It seems like a very long winter this year, and we have been kept busy quilting in our studio. The winter months are the perfect time to finish those UFO’s.
If you haven’t the time or are keen to move on to something new, then bring them along to us and let us do the work for you.
We have also successfully completed two more charity quilts for Lovequilts UK, they are an amazing organization you should really check them out, click on the link on the right under blogroll.
February is the month for Valentines, and here is a quilt we did late last year. It was a shoebox shuffle, some of you may know what that means. Each member of a quilt group puts together a shoebox with patch patterns, fabrics and designs and then swap around for a few months. This way everyone gets to make a patch, the shoebox eventually returning to the owner to put together. A nice touch is when a book is added for the quilters to put notes, comments, weather reports etc., and these make wonderful reading as time goes by.
This single size quilt was simply quilted with a freehand meander and hearts, only through the white open areas, not crossing the appliqués. Very pretty.
